Below are videos cut from a larger documentary piece showing how the Slave Pen came to be at the Freedom Center. We have cut out three distinct phases of the film including the dismantling, reconstruction and archeology phases of the Slave Pen.
Featured in most of the documentary is Carl Westmoreland. Mr. Westmoreland was instrumental in the founding and direction of the museum and served as the Freedom Center's senior historian until he passed in March 2022.
